Media reports and testimonies from journalists indicate that staff at MCN TV, a private channel owned by Endri Meksi, may have gone unpaid for several months. SafeJournalists Network (SJN) has not been able to verify these claims independently.

The situation escalated after moderator Delinda Disha publicly alleged salary delays of at least five months and raised concerns about the treatment of more than 100 staff. In response to a statement by the Association of Journalists of Albania (AGSH), owner Endri Meksi made a vulgar public comment that has been widely criticised as inappropriate for a media owner.

While the facts remain disputed, the case highlights ongoing concerns about labour rights and working conditions in Albania’s media sector. SJN stresses that relevant institutions should ensure transparency and protect the dignity and rights of journalists.
