Dmytro Hornov, former sound designer at Suspilne Chernihiv, was killed in action on June 21. His wife Viktoria, who also works at Suspilne, reported this on June 28, writes Suspilne Broadcasting.
Dmytro was killed in a Russian guided aerial bomb strike while performing a combat mission in Sumy oblast. “Your work at Suspilne Chernihiv breather life into voice acting in films and news stories. According to Suspilne Chernihiv, in addition to working as a sound designer, Dmytro hosted the program “To Play or Not to Play?” on Ukrainske Radio Chernihiv, where he discussed teaching children music. He was also involved in the making of the film “The Battle for Chernihiv.” Dmytro Hornov was the frontman and songwriter of the rock band Vyriy. In 2018, the band released the album "Edges of Dreams". Dmytro moved to Chernihiv in the same year, joining the Suspilne team. From June 2023 to February 2024, Dmytro was a software operator at the IT company Realview, later getting job as a beer brewery operator at the Chernihiv branch of ABinBev. Dmytro Hornov was drafted into the Ukrainian Armed Forces in April 2024. He completed basic military training in the United Kingdom. Dmytro Hornov has been attending his unit's individual training school since June 2024. In November, he was assigned rifleman and medic for the enemy action tracking company at the collective training school. He was also enrolled in a basic sergeant training course. Dmytro was appointed instructor in March 2025 and awarded the rank of junior lieutenant in May. He was a platoon commander in the ranks of the mechanized brigade No. 158. Dmytro is survived by his pregnant wife, five-year-old daughter, and grandfather. RELATED
